Just a day at home. I've been trying to figure out how to save money on and pay off debts. This is what I am doing so far.
1. Switching car insurance saves $48 every six months. Haven't given up on finding cheaper!
2. Switch phone and internet = $13 month savings.
3. Paying off a credit card = $75 to 150 monthly plus potential interest.
4. Begged dad to help with Ellisons school saves $150 month.
Buttt...you knew there had to be a but. I have a car note now and my insurance tripled from what it was with my old truck.
Anybody have any financial wizadry. I have student loans, credit cards and a car note to pay. Know of any good consolidation programs or advice on how to manage it all. Right now I pay everything as it comes. Most get paid on line but I still sit down and do it monthly. I'm to up in the air to do automatic deposits.
I'm a bachelors RN so everybody knows I make a decent salary. I do not qualify for much help. I applied for several scholarship for my son and got none.
Any advice?

the state I had to get regular car ins. My rate tripled! I went
for $400 a year to $1200. Now that they are carrying Me again
I'm back to under $500 a year. So look into joining AAA or
'dundundunnn' AARP they do offer good deals on car ins.
Many Credit Unions also have breaks on ins. but not to
the extent AAA does.
It's a simple budget trick but it works for me.
Break all of your regular bills into weekly segments,
then add the segments together either in the register,
notebook, or a ledger.
ex. a $400 payment every 6months= 24weeks @ $16.66/wk
$500 a month= 4weeks @ $125/wk
Don't forget to budget some me $$$ and an emergency fund.
Join a food co-op to save some grocery $.
Good luck
