Well this weekend ended up to be pretty boring. It was too cold to go floating down a river drinking, so instead I went out to eat with my younger brother and my roomie adoll as they were both leaving that day.
Instead of Kyle, my brother, leaving, he decided to stay and we just hung out the rest of the day not doing much. We played Disney Monopoly which I have not played in forever. So I enjoyed that. I miss Kyle. We used to be so close. My parents would always be at work, so I basically ended up raising him. I would be me who would get him up and ready for school, who would make him do his homework after school and who would make him supper. It would be me who would take care of him all day in the summer, cooking, cleaning, entertaining. We used to go through our parents old records, crank them as loud as they would go on the stereo, grab hair brushes, and make command performances. We would make up funky dance moves and not feel an ounce of embarrasement or shame. He had a lot of trouble in school and a lot of problems learning, so when teachers gave him stuff to do over the summer, instead of working on that, I made up learning games that he actually found fun.
I miss that. I wouldn't be able to bust a fucked up move now and not feel an ounce of shame. God, I hate getting older and growing apart from people. I don't know if this is just the natural order of life, or if I have an extreme problem with it. Either way, it happens all the time.
Anyway, my parents got back from Sturgis on Saturday (like an 8 hour trip) that they drove totally on motorcycle and then they called me to tell me they were making the 4 hour trip up to see me, also on motorcycle. So they got to my apartment around midnight, freezing because they drove 4 hours in fucking 50 degree weather. Silly parents. Either way, it was nice to see them. They stayed overnight and left the next day after lunch.
So my roomate is officially gone now. I cried. This is poopy. I honestly don't know if she went totally against her own will, or if a part of her actually wanted to go home. I understand either way, but that doesn't mean it doesn't suck donkey dung.
Hope all went well with you kids this weekend. Have a great week.
