A couple of weeks ago @missy and @rambo asked us about how social media has impacted our lives. Social media has indeed had an impact on my life in the past couple of years (especially since I joined instagram, teehee) @bloghomework
Now I constantly have the need to share things! People may not be as excited about Liya's current nail color or Liya's breakfast sandwich as they may be excited about the stock market and politics, but who cares! I will share that silly picture anyways. A certain number of minutes in my day is always dedicated to wasting time on instagram or tumblr. Do I have a feeling I spend my free time in a less productive matter ever since social media has been introduced in my life? Maybe. But since I don't change that, I guess there is a part of me that enjoys wasting my time that way.
I also noticed that my silly blurry selfies tend to get more likes than professional photoshopped photos taken by actual photographers. I guess that has a lot to do with the nature of human curiosity - blurry selfies in your bathroom give people a better idea of how you life your life versus carefully curated glamour shots (and who will resist the urge to take a sneak peak at how other people live their lives?)
Is my life radically different from what you will see on my instagram? Not really, other than I don't wear makeup and sexy bras in my house while I draw or paint (I wear a mask though, oil paint smells like hell!)
