So today was the so-called Cadaver Day. A small bunch of undergrads, including yours truly, got a chance to glance (as well as to poke) a few dead bodies for the sake of gaining better understanding of the human body. It was quite an educating experience, but I still have kind of mixed feelings for those dismembered bodies proudly put on display. For a few minutes I thought of an acquaintance of mine, who is a self-proclaimed fan of snuff films, gory pictures and other unhealthful shit. In reality, it's one thing when it's in the movies and you're all excited for more blood and gore, yet it's a little different when you stand in windowless lab room, acknowledging the fact that the pelvic bone which you are holding in your hands was once a part of a living walking person. I am by no means being some kind of a snob nor I am attempting to make a statement against using cadavers for scientific purposes; I am just sharing my feelings about my first ever encounter with a lab experience like this.
Also, this. Dear SG member (who shall remain anonymous) who put up my (as well as other girls') sets on a free Russian social website. I greatly appreciate all that work that you had to go through in order to deliver the joys of free SG sets to those extremely impoverished people who can afford internet, and yet, can not afford to spend $4 a month for a full subscription to the site. I know who you are, because obviously, you were too stupid to use different alias on both sites. But hey, once you put up my entire set on a different website, you can at least refrain from talking shit about it, as well as complaining about how much you dislike it and how unprofessional and ugly you think it came out.
Take care, lovelies. The end of the academic year is just around the corner and I am totally psyched!

Thanks guys It's not like I was grossed out or anything, it was just a little unusual. Especially when our professor pointed to a mutilated pelvic area with exposed pale yellowish labia, scooped out insides and chopped off legs and exclaimed (with so much enthusiasm it was almost inappropriate) "hey, look, that's a very good specimen right there". Haha.

I actually learned a ton from cadaver labs. It really put A&P into perspective when you could pull on object A and object B would do something. And as far as any emergency relating to the abdominal organs, it's one thing to stare at a book, or palpate every person. But actually seeing and putting your hands into it and seeing each organ... amazing. I guess being an EMT for so long (these labs are for paramedic/ccemtp classes)... I'm kinda blase about dead bodies now, but... to each their own.
