Note: The motivation for this update is primarily to please freyja and prove illstabyou wrong.
NYU pushed the announcement deadline back a month, so there is still no word on that mess....which means I'm still wallowing my my land o' indecision.
I'm still in NC. The theatre down here offered me the design for the show after next: Das Barbecu. Its a fast-paced texas-set musical retelling of Wagner's Ring Cycle. There is a ridiculous amount of quick changes and in a theatre with laughable wing space its certainly going to be a challenge. The set designer is local, so discussions have already begun. I've decded to just hang out down here until that show is up and running.....and perhaps by then I'll have more clarity on the grad school and NY business as well.
In other news:
*I'm having lunch with an old friend of mine tomorrow...he's offered to pimp my resume out before. This time I might let him.
*Its St. Patty's day and its snowing. And by snowing I mean someone sprinkled a lil powder sugar out on the lawn which will be melted completely within the next few hours. Still, all the schools shut down. Ha.
*I have to buy cabbage today so we can make soem coleslaw to go with the batch of homemade bbq Rhonda is making
*I got an offer to work as a designer for the summer at Stagedoor Manor. Its a rich kids performance arts camp. I don't do kids, and I don't want a portfolio stocked with photos of cheesy 12 year olds struggeling to play another Stanley Kowalski or Nathan Detroit. Still I feel like something of a chump for brushing off an opportunity that totally landed in my lap out of the blue.
*Thomas is here visiting. I love him...but sometimes he's a whiney pansy ass bitch.
