Lemur's Fantastical Horror Blog Intro
Current mood: cantankerous
Category: Movies, TV, Celebrities
Welcome to what I hope will be a new running feature on my page, Lemur's Fantastical Horror Blog (name pending)! This is where I plan on blogging about anything and everything horrific be it movies, games, music etc. I'll be reviewing, panning or praising most anything from the genre be it pure shit, pure camp, or the most terrifying thing I've ever experienced. this will contain spoilers out the ass but just highlight the bitch if you really care, it'll show up, don't want to ruin the movie...even if it's crap... It usually is.
Common features to this blog include...
Original Poster/artwork: If available
Basic info: Where I tell you some crap I find on IMDB...With links!
My first thought: What I thought the movie was pre-screening, be it from a bad title, explanation or vague trailer.
Quick Plot: A brief and to the point synopsis of what the movie was about.
Body count: A random song by Ice-T...not really but this is pretty self explanatory, how many people are dead by the end of the movie.
Gore factor: Likelihood of a former VP saying he invented it...again self explanatory
Jubbly factor: Horror flicks tend to have young svelte men and women in various degrees of undress. This is where I rate this.
Cliche Count: A total and breakdown of genre cliches such as "Cat in the trashcan scare", "He's already dead scare", "Suddenly a corpse scare", "medicine cabinet mirror scare" and "Bitch take off the damn heels moment"
Soundtrack: One of my favorite things about horror flicks is the likelihood of a decent hard rock soundtrack. This is my opinion of the movie's music.
Direction: How well put together this movie was, was it an Oliver Stone, or little Billy's Youtube video.
Acting: Or lack there of
Script: Or lack there of
Lemur's POV: This is where I break down the movie scene by scene as I watch and basically watch it so you don't have to. A lot of spoilers and a lot of me bitching usually. might be good for a laugh though.
Psychobabble: a brief essay explaining why this is supposed to be scary
Franchise opportunities: Cause what good's a horror flick if there aren't 73 sequels? And McFarlane toys?
Final thoughts: Is this movie worth it?
And if this is to be an ongoing thing I'll need your help. feel free to give me suggestions for some movies to do, maybe throw some dvds my way. whatever your favs are let me know.
Anyway I should have my review for prom night up tomorrow, till then
