Manhattan Bound A Train
As I moved from the standing only F train to the packed A train I scanned my surroundings for a place to sit. I saw two men who had their legs sprawled out and I almost couldn't tell that there was an empty seat between them. And so I asked, "May I sit?" and they made...

Ok. This is a stream of consciousness response to the blog I posted the other day about the bigot in the candy line at the movie theatre. I choose to write it in this style and I will not edit or read over it before I post it because this is my emotional energy in its purest form.

yeah, I run into a lot of people here, but never talk to any of them. this city is relatively isolationist I feel. Maybe that's what I perceive because that is what I experience and the position I put myself in. But i also think it is part of the personality of the town. The only poeple I know from the town I used to work with or got drunk at the bar with.
And if you have a local friend, going to the bars here can be real fun. otherwise.....
But NYC is just too vertical for me. My midwest, Great Plains blood recoils at the very thought. I hope it's working out, but I love my little suburban, armo haven I've built for myself here.

Yes, I'm in Florida at the moment, mostly chilling before deciding where to go next. 2005 has been a long year, bringing on many changes; it's good to finally have time to unwind for a bit & consequently I am being very lazy at the moment...!

Are you coming around Florida one of these days?
Its kind of like a bad relationship thats about to endyou stay because of the good moments, knowing that its going nowhere and that something (someone) better is out there. You realize that its only a matter of time I quit my job over a month ago and was asked to stay to help out during a busy couple of weeks and then, I decided...

well, you don't need to do shit to or about this girl -- the universe will do it for you! she will get her ass kicked repeatedly until she fucking learns better. in the meantime don't give her the satisfaction of being the way she is -- you also might be serving a good example, who knows???

My first hater...
This was inevitable. As I sipped my mocha java waking from a surprisingly restful night of sleep I checked the amazon page and to my surprise found that not everyone loves my book! What? How can this be? I laugh. I've just always wondered what inspires people to hate and what gives them the motivation to take time to...

i honestly thought the best part of that book, even as a work of fiction, was that it was in the format of letters. letters to someone charlie never intended to hear back from. which gave it a half diary, half conversational feel. it made it more real. but, it was fiction.
suffice to say, i'm really REALLY interested in finding your book. i haven't really read any young adult stuff in a while (other than perks, which, incidentally, i started rereading after i made that post), and i certainly haven't read anything about cutting since i quit, but i'd really excited to delve back into it. see what it feels like. not the cutting, just, ya know, reading about. i want to know what reading about it, thru non-fiction, through letters, feels like. i hope you're book does well, and i mean that in at least two ways. sorry for the long post/letter.
ps. do you know if it's carried on the east coast?
