As mentioned, I have catching up to do, rather commentary on the state of existence. That will have to wait for the weekend or sometime. For now I merely want to mention a dream I had.
I barely remember it, so here's the gist. A friend and I -- I don't think it was a real-life friend, but a made-up dream friend -- went skydiving together. But it was like military skydiving, or a mix of civilian, rental skydiving and military parachuting. I think something we were doing was not exactly by the rulebook, which was part of the fun. Anywho, we jumped out of the plane and had an exhilarating and picturesque freefall through the clouds, looking at the terrain below. It was a beautiful day. I opened my 'chute at a fairly high altitude and enjoyed a long, comfortable descent to the ground, still admiring the scenery. Finally, I had the lightest landing imaginable, almost like I had to put some effort into getting my feet to touch the ground. As I packed up my 'chute, I couldn't help but think that I'd just had the most amazing and peaceful experience of my life.
My alarm woke me abruptly, but that was fine because the dream was pretty much over. I wasn't even mad that the alarm had gone off, because the dream had been so peaceful.
I think the dream was inspired by my recent thoughts about wishing I had superpowers.
That is all.
