Hey there. How was your weekend? Mine was busy, and I felt kinda icky, bec I have been coughing and conjested. Went to see my friends band (99 Names of God) at Ridglea Theatre, with our married friends. They are a trippy band, kinda like portishead with a war guitar. Actually its not a war guitar, its an instrument called the "stick." My friend describes his band as computer rock. If your into computer rock check them out at 99 Names of God.
Saturday I went to a baby shower. They are not going to find out the sex of the baby, so that was kinda exciting. I love how pregnant women are so radiant and beautiful (despite the puffy faces and blotchy skin), and how they always rub/scratch their bellies. I am so jealous of them.
Then we went to visit my Mom and Dad. My Dad was at my Mom's setting up my sis' new computer. Here is some background info....my parents got divorced when I was 11. They divorced bec my Dad was not faithful, but it really goes a lot deeper than that.....I believe they were never in love in the first place, and it was doomed from the begining.
Anyways, my Dad has always been very involved in me and my sis' lifes. Therefor my Mom and Dad still talk to eachother, and they both go out to eat with us, and my Dad will even hang out at my Mom's house for Xmas, Thanksgiving, and other big holidays. Now, I never thought that this was an odd thing, until I met my bf. His parents split when he was three, and they are both remarried. According to him, they have only seen eactother about 2-3 times in the last 20-something years. And that, to me, is very wierd.
So, what I am getting at, is my Mom and Dads relationship after divorce has always seemed quite normal to me. But my bf always coments about how odd he thinks it is.
What do you think? Is it wierd for divorced people to still act civil towards eachother, and spend time together for the well being of their children?
