sometimes i love my job - getting occasionally to walk along the lakefront and see the chicago shoreline. today, however, was not one of those days. wow! it was bitter cold. i don't know if it was the slight humidity in the air or what but the cold cut right through my many layers of long johns, my new down coat, and my toasty ugg boots. i'm glad that i was able to come back into the office afterwards and warm up. a shout out to all those construction workers that had to be in the cold all day. you are hearty folk!
anyone have a good book to recommend? i just finished Dharma Bums by Jack Kerouac. It was fantastic. I had never read anything by him and I was thoroughly impressed, awed, and inspired. He had a great philosophy and tried to live simply but with great passion and love for life.

Be careful with all those construction workers, now. Maybe they like Uggs.
