*Heads up! This is a big ass blog!*
Well it is full on fall here in Calgary, Canada and it is making me look back on the the things i did this summer. I had a great summer. Our weather was amazing, unfortunately here in Calgary the weather rules all and summer is not garunteed to be warm and very long, but this year we really lucked out with an unusually hot summer. *cough* global warming *cough* Unfortunately for most of August the majority of British Columbia was experiencing severe forest fires so most of my province was consumed by smoke. August was a bit of a bust as the air quality was terrible and it hurt your eyes and lungs to be outdoors. So it’s a good thing i did as much as i could before that.
I started off by shooting my first set with @sirenerouge. I have been wanting to shoot a tmnt set for so long and i finally did it! This is actually my fav shirt and i wear it all the time. Also i got to eat pizza for this set which is probably the coolest thing ever. I think i need more pizza sets. Yes? Yes. (peep these previews!)
I also did a bunch of hiking this year, i started off the summer with a 17.5km hike, we saw a huge porcupine and a grouse, not to mention more spiders then i have ever seen in my fucking life. *shudders* there must have recently been a hatch, cause damn, spiders in webs EVERYWHERE.
It was still beautiful though, and totally worth it.
Then on Canada day (july 1) we did another hike, I believe i wrote a blog about this hike including lots of pictures, but it was 22.5km. By far the longest hike in distance ive done. On our way back we noticed the path had massive bear tracks and torn up ground. Im guessing we missed a grizzly by maybe 30 minutes. Too close for me. But this hike was challenging and beautiful and rewarding. What a great day.
A little later in july my friend @saelym volunteered to be a hair model for me. I wanted to do a pride themed shoot.
@mdt tought me how to use his camera and i took pictures of humans (successfully) for the first time.
@saelym was a great hair model and we had so much fun that day.
I also did another hair model the next week, i was hmua and photographer for this one. She isnt a sg, sgh or even a model, just a friend, but she did great!
I did gain a ton of respect for photographers though, my attention span for editing is nil. Editing takes me forever. Adhd problems! Lol
For my birthday in mid july @mdt and i went camping (with the weiner doggos.) it was such an amazing weekend. We got a flat tire and a flat air mattress but all of that wasn’t enough to dampen our spirits.
On one hot day, as we were walking along a creek i saw a part of the creek where it flowed over smooth flat rock. I instantly thought, “i bet you could slide down that.” Before either of us could talk it out i was sliding down this rock. Well, in hindsight i should have looked for the safest way down first. In my haste, i slid down and hit the ONLY rock. And landed in the pool full of branches and fallen trees, instead of the peaceful pool feet beside where i slid down. I would 10/10 do it again, but on the other side. And maybe on a yoga mat seeing as i cut my palm open and was COVERED in algea and tiny squirmy worms.
Attached is the picture of the waterfall and my massive bruise, which i am still sporting months later. Lol
And to end off my summer i changed my hair colour AGAIN! I couldn’t decide on a colour, so i said fuck it- and got them all! Now i have unicorn confetti hair! Its very pastel now btw, and sooo pretty!
Thanks for hangin in there, i know this was an OUTRAGEOUSLY long blog, but like i said i was busy this summer. Lol I dont blog often, but when i do i really go for it. Lol
Here’s to a new season and new adventures!
Lita xoxo
