Wow! Has it been a year already?? Exactly one year ago today "Free Comic Book Day" hit member review, making me an "official" sgh. What a journey it has been!! Since then my modelling skills and comfort level have grown exponentially. I have done a bit of traveling, mostly to Vancouver and area. I met some great people and shot so many sets! I have made more friendships in this year than i have in the past 5- no joke! SG has really changed my life, and made me a lot more comfortable with exclaiming to the world " This is me! And if you don't like it, well you can SUCK IT!"
I get to cross so much off my bucket list this year! I saw Vancouver, and in May I am FINALLY going to make it to the great city of Montreal.
All this comes after the greatest opportunity i have ever been given: I get to open for the Calgary @blackheartburlesque. I always watch the dancers on stage year after year after year, as we all do, with wonder and awe and be so in love with the whole show. I cannot believe i am blessed enough to be a part of it. The show is about 8 days away and I am still not sure if this feeling in my stomach is sheer terror or extreme excitement- maybe a bit of both. Let's just hope my heart will stop racing long enough for me to get my preformance done. Haha
I adore everyone who had helped me with my journey. Photographers, other models and of course those loyal followers you can always count on to be there for you- YOU GUYS ROCK! Soon I will be removing a fair chunk of the sets i shot last year, so if you want to see them all, check em out while you can. I just feel like they are not the greatest representation of the quality of modeling i can put out now. I still love my first set, it really shows a huge part if who i am, showcasing my comic books and action figures, but my photographer and I were new to this at the time. One day i plan to reshoot it, bigger and better than before!
I do have some new stuff coming out though! (Squeee so exciting!)
"Moving Day" shot by @kezia comes out in about a month
And "Beach Bum" shot on the beautiful shores of Vancouver by @mdt is out in a few months.
Sorry i have not been as active you guys, but between working, rehearsing for the show and heading up the blackheartburlesque promo for my area, I am kinda tapped out. I am looking forward to writing a NICE BIG blog about what is is like to open for the @blackheartburlesque and I will let you know how awesome it all went, i might even upload a video!!
I love this community so much, thanks for being the biggest and best family a socially awkward girl could ever ask for!
