I wanted to take a minute to talk about how proud I am to be Canadian.
Canada has so many amazing things to offer. From Mountains to oceans to thriving cities. I am a Canadian girl through and through. I am more at home at the top of a mountain than in a city, however i do still enjoy a night on the town. I like to watch hockey, smoke weed and drink beer. The polite Canadian stereotype is that for a reason, and I'm totally okay with that. If someone bumps into me, yah, I'll say sorry. The world could use a bit more politeness. So deal with it! (Sorry)
I love to go hiking and camping in the summer, and i have been known to fly fish now and again. Nothing makes you feel more alive than climbing a mountain and spending the whole day in nature until your so tired its all you can do to get home and collapse in your own bed.
Where i live summer is short lived so winter activities are a MUST! Or else you would lose your mind. I love to go skiing with my Dad and my Hubby. I tried to be one of those cool snowboarding chicks once - but i fell on my ass so many times that i said FUCK THAT- i look way cooler on skis, at least i can make it down the hill. There is nothing more relaxing than being on a snow covered peak. For those of you that do not know, the snow muffles all sound. So all you see for miles and miles are snow covered forests and mountains with no sound. It's like someone put the world on mute. It is bliss in it's truest form. For some anyway. I personally love the snow and i like the cold.
In the summer i, like most Albertans, travel to BC. PARADISE ON EARTH! Anyone who has never been to interior BC needs to do this immediately. The people are so friendly and laid back. The weather is warm and the lakes are refreshing. Well worth a visit.
I really do feel so fortunate that i get to experience all these wonderful places right outside my back door. And although being Canadian might mean something different to you. This is what being Canadian means to me.
