OH MY FUCK!
Seriously, I've had an AWESOME couple of days.
Tuesday I went to see a hip hop show with Kesu, who I haven't seen in about 5 years. We did some catching up, and I have to say it was really great to see him.
Because I'd been out for 3 nights in a row, I was going to go to bed early last night.. NOT SO MUCH. Instead, I spent the night as an extra for a U2 VIDEO!
Nelson called me at about 1:30 yesterday afternoon and told me that they were doing a call for 4000 extras for a U2 video at GM Place (They've been rehersing for the last month in Vancouver, what with our hockey arena being empty and all). The only catch was that they wanted people there at 3:00pm. Well, I had to work until 5:00 and was already a week behind, so I sighed and resigned myself to missing it(like I resigned myself to missing the concert because I couldn't afford it). He called me back at 4:45 and told me that they still needed 500 people, so I raced to finish my work and RAN out the door. I got down there and got a wristband! So I called Nelson back at about 6:45 and told him to come down because the hosts still had FISTSFULL of wristbands. So he ended up getting there at 7:45, got a wristband and got in with me.
They were shooting the video for City of Blinding Lights, so they did about 6 takes of that with 4 of them being with us all in the stands, and 2 with us on the floor. THEN to the surprise and glee of everyone in the crowd, they did a mini-impromptu concert! They did Vertigo, All Because Of You, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, and I think there was one more, but I can't remember which one...
Man, that is something that's going into my memory forever...I saw U2 for free, and I might even be in the video. Wow...I'm still in shock.
