Well this should end up fun for my first blog entry, lol. I know it is a little out of season but here we go anyways.
I have to say that I am sick of hearing all these people complain about "being offended" by the least little things. Most of those things have something to do with religion. First of all, I don't care what your belief is, if I want to hang up Christmas decorations at Christmas time then I am sure as hell going to do it. If I want to say Merry Christmas, Happy Easter, or make any other friendly greeting that has to do with Christianity, I don't want to have to feel guilty that I may "offend" someone.
I will take a minute here to state that this attitude I have is a two way street. That is to say if you want to wish me a Happy Kuwanza, Chanuka (sorry for not actually know how to spell it correctly) or any other friendly, and I do mean FRIENDLY, greeting having to do with your religious belief, I have no problem with it. I may simply thank you for the greeting, or offer an appropriate greeting from my own belief.
That being said, it bothers me to hear that fewer and fewer places are putting up decortations for religious holidays. "We don't want to offend anyone, so we will only put up 'Happy Holidays' decorations." Well you know what. THAT OFFENDS ME!!! If you want to add decorations from other holidays that happen around the same time thats cool with me. Just don't give in to those Bah humbugging, scrooges who don't want to see that other people are happy to celebrate something that even remotly resembles religion.
So to sum up my ranttings here. The United States of America is the land of the free. My freedom of speech is a right granted to me by the Constitution of this great country. So I can say what I want and if that offends you oh well. LEAVE MY BELIEFS ALONE!!!
