How many of us have watched TV programs that inspired us, and thought in the spur of the moment “Wow! I’d love to do that!”, only to forget the dream seconds later?
It seems to me that the flash dream we soon forgot or dismissed as 'pie in the sky' can suddenly materialise, unexpected, out of the blue. The next thing, you are living the dream you thought was impossible or could never happen to you.
One of my dreams was to have wildlife living on the doorstep. Then in Australia of all places it happened! The Possums were very friendly, especially if you had some pieces of apple or strawberries to hand. Kookaburras and Magpies would take food from your hand or come right up close to pose for you.
Then one day the dream went exponential and the next thing, I’m a foster parent to a Bennetts Wallaby joey we named ‘Polly Pocket’ because when she arrived in my life she was only 800g and could fit inside my big coat pocket. I became a wildlife carer with the Southern Wildlife Rescue & Care organisation and began learning from vets and wildlife experts how to look after these critters, including a Wombat joey called 'Piglet' and a Pademelon (yes that is a real word) we named 'Maddie The Padie'. I've never fed a human baby, so it was all new to me. Fortunately having great mentors helped ensure we took good care of the joeys entrusted to us. In these pics I have Less Hair - More Lard than my recent profile pic Less Lard - More Hair!
I follow a few of Hopefuls who dream of turning Pink! I was doing things I never thought possible, except in a dream, so to all you hopefuls, keep dreaming because it can happen, probably when you least expect it! Maybe even from what you thought was your worst ever photo set!
Sweet Dreams!
