I think that we all search for an idea, the idea that we can all be better then our selves...
Feelings are a strange vantage point to look upon reason. They deceive reason, mask your ability so see the events transpiring as a whole. instead we see only what facts strengthen our point turning a blind eye to understanding and compromise. They distort one's view to such a scale that temperament, facts, and current understanding are dismissed while they play to the weaknesses in one's mind. That begs the question, do we maintain the ability to permanently alter out views and emotions? Or are we slaves through the course of our lives? We are stubborn creatures, unwilling to make sacrifices on a whole. Only willing to take a stand when it benefits us in a personal aspect. On the individual level it seems equally as hard to alter our perceptions and ideas but we maintain one ability that we as a whole do not. We can choose. choice allows us to closely examine our stance and if need be, to change it. The place we are at in our lives is in direct collation to the choices we have made up to this point. This gives hope, the hope to better ourselves and perhaps by proxy better the world around us with improved understanding. But we are human and subject to folly time and time again. So what can we do facing such change and whats to happen when we fail?
