I am going to see "The Master" (Paul Thomas Anderson's newest) in NYC tomorrow (70MM as it is intended to be seen!) I have a healthy amount of skepticism about all religions (not just Scientology) so I am interested in this film, as not too many movies examine religious faith. Religion makes people uncomfortable in movies, which is why one can only name one or two movies that really try to be about it. Think of how many movies nuns are made to be the source of mockery.
I wonder if there will be any protests outside the theatre. I mean, the movie is meant as an allegory, not a direct attack on Scientology. So, we shall see.
