Well, I got my REM tickets for the Madison Square Garden show June 19th. I purchased them at about 10:20, twenty minutes after they went on sale, so obviously, I got bad seats. What are ya gonna do? I ended up ordering them over the phone, since the ticketmaster site wasn't exactly working super-well. I don't "do" going to shows well. I wish I could be one of those people that knows how to go about getting good tickets to events, but this faculty seems to evade me. It should be a good show all the same.
I have seen REM four times previously (I have seen only They Might Be Giants more often, I think I have seen them eight times). Each previous time (save for the most recent) was with my ex-girlfriend Jennie, an REM buff in her own right. The most recent time I saw them alone. Seeing them again (the last time in 2004) will doubtless reawaken memories of better times. I truly wish I could say I was going to see REM this time in June with that special someone, but I am not, and that fact saddens me. Que sera sera, I suppose. I mean, I have my arms and legs, and they work. What am I complaining about? There are people in this world who won't eat today, so my stupid musings on "poor poor me" are somewhat stupid.
In any case, I hope when I see them in June they play "Stand".
