The latest disc that will not leave my CD player is Aesop Rock's Bazooka Tooth. I know, it isn't a new release. I was definitely guilty of sleeping on this record. But it is rock solid.
The beats are rock solid and Ace is definitely on top of his game. Now I gotta go out and pick up Diverse's disc.
Well it is definitely the end of winter...boy am I pasty! Looking forward to the warmer weather and getting to spend some time in the sun. I have posted a couple new pics.
Another nice part of the weather improving is that there are a bunch of really good concerts coming up in the near future. More on that later.
Hey Lincoln. I can understand the cunfusion, but I'm not Jake, hahaha. Does he have an SG account? I've never asked him. As my anonymity is moot here anyway, you can just call me Joshua.
I'd be nice to know that new people would make it to the Metro if we play there... It's gonna be a crazy night, I'm sure. If you happen to live on the south side, though, you may be interested on seeing us at the Wabash Tap on the 26th. We've played with Two Cow garage a bunch of times and they bring the rock.
And word to warm weather, yo. Loading gear in the snow sucks ass.
Wow, my first journal entry in quite a while. I have actually been semi-productive. This month I have put together a radio station on Live365.
It is free to listen and all you need is a broadband connection. The station has 11 hours of music right now and I would like to start doing live broadcasts at some point in the future. I have been... Read More
So I am now signed up for the SG Chicago group. Thanks Hazel!
I have never been a big resolution person. But there are a lot of projects I need to work on so I guess I will do the resolution thing to try and get my shit in order as far as the projects go.
I was sorry to hear about the reported breakup... Read More
I'm tempted to try your idea so I can take the dog everywhere, but I think the librarians recognise me by now. It would be kind of weird for me to be suddenly struck blind and still checking out regular books.
I am back in town from LA. I had a great time and am recovering nicely.
Sooo I finally got around to adding a pic of my mug.
I am nearly finished with the Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. It is a good book. I was never a big comic book fan as a kid but it is still really enjoyable.
Sooo...I am heading off to LA for new years and will not be around the site for a little while. It should be a lot of fun, the only thing that sucks is I have a red eye flight first thing manana.
I found out about the site through a song by the underground hip-hop group Atmoshphere and a recent NYTimes article on the site.... Read More
So with it being the end of the year I decided to list a couple albums I really like. In no particular order:
Electric Six - Danger! High Voltage!
Atmosphere - Seven's Trails
Lifesavas - Spirit in Stone
Fountains of Wayne - Welcome Interstate Managers
Pretty Girls Make Graves - The New Romance
Basement Jaxx - Kish Kash
Kaskade - It's You It's Me

The Electric Six album I have is an EP. It doesn't have a song called Gay Bar. It is a pretty fun record tho.
I like those Pretty Girls... songs as well as All Medicated Geniuses, Chemical Chemical, and This is our Emergency. I think it is their most consistent album.
Fountains of Wayne got a lot of airplay for a song called "Stacy's Mom" but the whole album is poppy and pretty funny.
