This weekend was a blast- especially on top of a week of unsupervised, unmotivated work. I am happy just thinking about it.
Friday, was hot, so I only went to work for a little while. No one was there anyway, so I just went online for acouple hours and then got out. The computer with all my data on it wasn't working anyway, so I couldn't do anything if I were even so inclined. My friend and I then walked to the train station and commuter railed our asses to Boston for some shopping, chinatown dining, and DJ spun dancing.
After Filene's basement and H&M, we had some tripe (weird looking cow's stomach) and chilled jellyfish for dinner, we have a list of things to try and they were on it, and then another place for these tasty round meat pockets and sweet egg white and white ball soup, I don't know what it's really called though but they were all good things to try.
Then we made our way to the Avalon to see/hear a DJ my friend likes BT. I know nothing at all about DJing or dance or clubs, so this was all a fun new experience. Once we were in it was a bit strange though. It was dark, music was playing, but mostly people were just standing around, watching the few people who were dancing on the floor. Not exactly what I expected, but what do I know about such things?
As more and more people showed up I pulled my friend onto the floor and we awkwardly started to try to dance. This was my first real attempt at sober dancing, usually I am way to self concious to put my self in those situations- dancing situations. After a while though, we got into it and I had a really great time. Dancing alone was way better than with someone though, because I can't keep with their tempo, I'm too erratic to make it fun for anyone so fllying solo was the way to go. On stage were these four superhot female dancers that were entracing- I want their job, dancing on your own in a sexy little getup and not being stepped on or elbowed in the face. Maybe someday...
Stumbling out of the club, our joints and feet and ear drums were throbbing but we found a taxi and an all night diner near south station. I had a delicous vanilla milkshake and buttery raisin toast. We spent the rest of the night camped out in south station nodding off on tables and chairs until finding an open bakery in chinatown and getting some weird pastries to eat on the train back to providence. We got back to the apartment around 8am, slept for a few hours and woke up drenched in sweat. My friend had to go to a class, and I baked some browines to bring to my friend staying in Connecticut with her family.
Much coffee and loafing around later, I finally drive up to her house and get to hang out with her and her awesome family. We went to the beach today, and sailing, and eating lots of sandwiches. This weekend was sweet. If you've read this far, awesome and thanks for your effort and patience! I hope you all had enjoyable weekends as well.
