Before I begin let me say that despite it all I still love whole foods market. It had to happen to someone and it was me. They provide great service and only the best food for Veg. And vega. and everyone else too... here is my story.
Yesterday Ted and I went to whole foods market in marlton.
I got avacado and cucumber sushi
Chai Tea
Honest Tea
And a cheese and jalapeno tamalae.
I heated the tamalae up and went ahead eating it. But it tasted really strange, and the inside looked bizzare too. I looked to ted and remarked "This kinda loks like chicken"
He reasured me that whole foods is too good about things like that, its prolly not chicken at all.
Well.
he was right.
I stopped eating it because I felt Ill... No wmind you there are two in the prepackaged, labeled "chesse and jalapeno" box.
I ate the first and began forking the other one.
and a chunk of meat fell out.
I got sick and rushed it up to the dellactessan counter
"Im sorry but does this have CHICKEN in it? Its labeled as a vegitarian item"
"Im not sure... Want me to give you a new one?"
"I WANT to know what THAT is, I want to talk to someone."
"Let me go ask"
the man retuned looking a little distraught, "It has been identified as... PORK."
I want into a fit, I began crying and shaking uncontrolably
I had just eaten a pig.
I felt so Ill and all this man did was to get me my money (a whole two dollars) back
but ted and I raised more hell.
WHAT IF HE HAD EATEN IT TOO?!
He is Jewish!!!!
They apologized and gave me a 25 dollar gift card...
but let me tell you.
I would never eat meat for 25 dollars.
so thats my story
my warning is to allways check carefully and dont feel stupid even if your meateating friends laugh or call you stupid. FUCK THEM if they do that!!!! check your food.
Again, Whole foods still provides the most quality organic food and I encourage everyone to continue shopping there, just be careful. Mistakes happen.
