Yes, so I am not back in Tampa. I'm s'posed to be, but I ain't. I dawned on me (30 minutes before I was planning to leave, mine you) that I was going back for one day of class. ONE DAY. Then I would have Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off before class on Monday. So it seemed like a much better idea to stay here until Sunday, and that's what I'm doing. Even though it's early in the semester-- eh, screw 'em. I should be juuuuust fine. Anyways, today is a banner day. It is CRAB FRITTERS DAY!!! I will be making crab fritters today (attempting to, anyways). We got the recipe from Alton Brown (viva la Food Network) and it is gonna be awesome. But do you have any idea how expensive crab fritters are?!!? The recipe calls for 2 cups of lump crab meat (the kind that comes in a jar or can). We couldn't find any at our friendly neighborhood Publix, so we ventured to Wild Oats. And we did find it. And it was 6 dollars for a can that, once drained, is 4.5 ounces of crab meat. So it was 12 dollars for a cup of crab meat! CANNED crab meat! This is almost too much for me to bear. That seems outrageous. These better be some good fucking crab fritters.
Wish me luck!

Canned crab meat actually sounds a little gross. And this is coming from a huge crab fan.

I hope they were good.
