since it was unseasonably warm today i took my honey to the park. it was however, seasonably windy, but i think she still had fun. and she looked so damn cute, i did the classic mom thing where she was so bundled up that she couldn't move her arms. she's still way more interested in staring at other kids than actually playing, but we got her to go down the slide and swing and play w/these wind chime things-that was her favorite. there was nearly an accident when i took her on the tire swing w/me, my playground skills are a lil rusty, but she thought nearly being dropped on her head was great fun, so no worries. weirdly, i was the only mom there, all the other kids were w/their dads. which actually, is how i remember it being when i was growing up. but i'm mom and dad, so i have to rise the occasion. do i get badges to chart my progress like in the girl scouts? is there a taking-your-kid-to-the-park badge? anyway, the whole venture wore her out and she went right to sleep when we got home. hurrah. and i should now be taking a bath and reading instead of squandering my precious quiet time online, so i think that's what i'll do.
