ugh, i'm sick. and like the innate whiner i am, i'm handling it gracelessly. everyone around me knows that i'm miserable and that my ears hurt when i swallow and that's the way i like it. and if you don't lavish me w/sympathy upon the 1st moan, i'll just keep going till i get the response i want. save yourself some time and say "oh you poor thing" at the first cough. i got sick like twice a yr until i had a kid, who shall henceforth be known as the plague rat. a plague rat who vomitted robitussin on me at 2am this morning. my life is so awesome. the scary thing is instead of being disgusted i was just irritated that i had to spend an extra 15 min cleaning up puke before i could go back to bed. and still i love her and still her sad little cough pulls at my heart. go figure. parenthood is a mild form of insanity. time to go slather myself w/vicks and drink 1/2 a bottle of "cherry" nyqil. but since i can't smell i can't taste it. bonus! and fyi, sex when you're in the throes of the bubonic plague? not fun. at all. it's never good when you're thinking "oh god, i wish he'd hurry up and come so i can take some cough medicine and go to sleep." eek. on the plus side, he got up and gave the baby her cough syrup when she woke up at 4am that day, didn't even wake me to ask questions. yay for him.
