Today is Day 11 on the Premarin estrogen supplement, 2.5mg daily.
I did something stupid, or rather, I failed to do something I was supposed to do. When I got out of bed and headed to the shower this morning I remembered that today is the day my unemployment check usually comes in the mail (every other Thursday)... and then I remembered: Oh Shit I Forgot To Send In My Claim Form On Monday! So, I pulled on some clothes as fast as I could, filled out the claim form and sealed it up in the envelope which was tacked to my kitchen cabinet where I go to make tea first thing every morning so I could not forget to sign and mail it in on the required date, and I hurried out the door to run to the nearest post office to get it mailed. Supposedly it will end up in Sacramento tomorrow, only three days later than it would have, had I mailed it on time. So while my check won't get here till next week, it should arrive before the 1st so I can pay my rent, and I doubt there will be any snafus like having my benefits stopped. A friend of mine failed to send in his claim form as required, and temporarily lost his benefits... but he had waited over 14 days past the mailing date. I am a little worried about this, and kicking myself for my forgetfulness, but I am thinking it will work out alright.
Today is the day of my concert, I'm getting nervous now but I am well prepared to give a good performance tonight. I kind of doubt anyone in the SF bay area is going to even read my blog and consider attending my gig, but here is the info just in case:
Forms Of Things Unknown is pleased to be one of the featured performers in this year's 8th Annual Outsound New Music Summit festival. This summer OutSound will be presenting four consecutive nights of adventuresome music from a spectrum of artists working in a wide variety of creative sonic milieus, including Vinny Golia, the ROVA Saxophone Quartet, Hans Fjellestad, Thomas Dimuzio, Conure and many others.
The music commences on Wednesday, July 22, running through Saturday, July 25, with each night's concert focused an a specific theme or approach. Forms Of Things Unknown is one of five acts taking the stage on the second night, entitled Industrial Soundscapes and occurring on Thursday, July 23 (it just had to be twenty-three, you know!). Sharing the bill with FOTU are Thomas Dimuzio, Hans Fjellestad, Peter Colovos and Conure. All concerts include a pre-concert Q&A with the evening's performers, and all events take place at the San Francisco Community Music Center, located at 544 Capp Street (one block south of Mission St, near 20th St) in San Francisco CA. View the full schedule of concerts with detailed info and artist bios at the Outsound Music Summit 2009 page at the Outsound Music Summit 2009 page. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Free if you are a bonafide Suicide Girl, just message me with your name so I can put you on my guest list.
NOTE: FOTU is scheduled to perform first on the bill, beginning at 8:15 PM SHARP! The Q&A discussion starts at 7:15 PM. If you want to be assured of catching my set, plan on arriving early!
This concert will occur on the 14th anniversary of the passing of Marjorie Elizabeth Cameron (aka Babalon or The Scarlet Woman), who died on 23 July 1995.
