"This Aggression will not Stand" group show opening was this weekend in SLC. Here's a pic of a hot babe having her picture taken next to my "Autobahn" poster (you can see just the corner of it).
Professionally, things seem to finally be falling into place. I wish knew the why and how behind this achievement but I'm just gonna roll with it. I'm finally getting paying jobs instead of relying on selling things on my own. My show in Oakland has been such a success that the gallery wants it to be an annual event and I sold more in the first week than I expected to sell during the entire two-months. In the last two days, sales doubled. Incredible. THree weeks ago I was down to $35 in my account and a pocketful of lint.
I need to pack up some stuff today for a show at the Kentucky Museum of Art and Craft. I think this is my first inclusion in a "real" museum show in the US. I have to write an artist's statement. I hate those and think they are stupid.
Noise Pop Festival this week. SXSW in three weeks. Hopefully, I'll bring in enough cashola to finally finish my studio and become an autonomous entity. I scored a platinum pass for SXSW this year so I'll see more of the festival than ever before. I wish had the money to bring a booth buddy along -- maybe its not too late.
(Personal life stuff deleted).
Here are some pics from my opening in Oakland.
Here's two more pages from my book project:
