boy oh boy. the past few weeks have been hectic. most notably, tommeh's visit to boulder. folks, we had an insanely good time. Some new frontiers were pioneered here in Colorado and I found myself in parts of Boulder previously unvisited. It made me quite happy to have my best friend enjoying my new home as much as he did.
It has been a little quiter here with tommeh gone, but the activity has hardly slowed. Starting the day he left, it heated up to around 70 degrees here for about 4 days leaving absolutely no snow on the ground and my body looking very red and tender (soon to be sexy brown I imagine, hah).
I played cards for the first time in a while at a casino in a truly quintessential mountain town. Spent that night at a friends condo, hit a pretty scary mountain bar in Dillon, CO and snowboarded however haggardly the next day. I also got a serving job at this mongolian barbeque restaurant which is a huuge relief. I'm going to be financially self sufficient this semester so finding a job this quickly is a big weight off. Got my car back from the shop after a costly fix which is good, but it meant giving up the sexy 2005 rental car I splurged on with a built in subwoofer.
.........
Last night was a friends' 22nd birthday where, as the night wore on, the crowd morphed from a gathering of friends to a twilight zone like mixer. This was after an influx of scary cholos, a speed freak with unspeakably odd fashion sense and a knack for starting conversations with people who had their backs turned, and some guys in feux-leather jackets, loud polyester shirts, and incredibly baggy jeans. To try and recount some of the conversations would shame the comedic integrity so you'll just have to trust me that shit got weird.
Relatively small amounts of alcohol are wacking me pretty hard recently so for now I go to nurse a hangover with some fine jasmine green tea.
Hope all is well with everyone!

I miss you sweetie, and our awkward hugs. 'Had fun at that last party. Remember that crazy photo of you with the red eyes? I still laugh when I think about that. I should've kept it and not traded it for the other one. Well, maybe not, because that one is on my fridge and it makes me happy every day.
Eat at MaMa's when you go home again. I miss the bacon.
