I hate to post two critical / negative blog posts on consecutive days, but don't want to tell @MISSY, @RAMBO, and @CHARMAINE that my cats ate my homework, and wanted to tag some SGs who I really like who have already done their homework or who I'd like to read theirs (@moony_, @roz, @prettyneurotic, @tyree1, @eminence, @arya_ ). So here goes ...
• Loud mouth-food noises. This isn't my top pet peeve, but it's definitely the first I thought of. You can blow bubbles with your gum, but I don't want to hear your lips smacking while you open-mouth chew your gum, suck on hard candy, or eat. It's fucking gross.
• Related to my first point: pretty much anything I deal with on the New York City subway, from horrible amateur singing, guys taking up two-and-a-half seats because they have their legs splayed out while sitting, and your smelly breakfast sandwich, to the extremes: homeless guy with his shoes off (not unsympathetic to the homeless, but come on), people clipping their nails onto the car floor, and fights.
• Pointless talk to fill the void in elevators, waiting in line, etc. No one likes waiting. I have a weather app. As Depeche Mode says, Enjoy the Silence.
• Tosh.0 -- Sorry, I'm probably going to upset some of you out there, but I think he's just a douche. Sure, he is funny sometimes, but I look at him and want to kick him in the balls.
• People who write off metal music without a discussion. Yeah, I get it's probably not your thing, but throughout my life, I've met many people who dismiss a huge genre of music and the artists who make it, because it's "noise", "angry", or "too loud". How about approaching things with an open mind and asking why fans like it? Same goes with related genres like hardcore, punk, industrial, goth, etc. Horns up fans, and not in a trendy Hollywood way! \m/
