E V I C T E D!
So it seems that we have been evicted, the reason given in the eviction letter is that I didn't keep up the yard enough. Well I will admit I let the back yard go quite a bit but there were extenuating circumstances. I am not saying that I am blameless, but is it really an eviction worthy offense?
Here is my story about the yard, beware it is quite the rant:
SPOILERS! (Click to view)Ok here is the main reason I let it go, my neighbor, also my landlords tenant, was having parties all the time and keeping up the whole neighborhood. Sometimes she would go to the bars until they closed at 2 am and then come home and continue parting. Yeah waking up at 2 am to the Boom-Boom-Boom of their car stereo being used as the parties music is such a joy. I tried calling the landlord about it but that didn't seem to help so I had to resort to calling the cops all the time. What does this have to do with the yard, you ask? When I would go out to work on the yard the neighbor would glare at me, mutter things under her breath, and yell obscenities at her toddler children, yes she had kids. Anyway, after a while I just stopped going out there to avoid the stress.
Side note: I am not against a party now and again but a loud wild party every 3 or 4 days till 3 am is a bit much to deal with when most of the people in the neighborhood, including us, had to get up at 4 or 5 am to go to work.
Two months ago my neighbor got her ass evicted as well. Everyone in the neighborhood had enough after a year of this party neighbor and we all called the landlord to complain. We called the landlord ourselves at 10 am after we had been woken up again. Needless to say we were free of the neighbor from hell less than 3 weeks later. So the landlord made mention that our yard was bad and we needed to get it under control, so every day I would work out there. Depending on my schedule I would work on the yard between 1 and 6 hours every day. Being that I was the only one working on the yard it was slow going, and I was honestly trying to do it right so that the yard would be better then when I came here. Remember I understand that the yard was my responsibility and that it was my fault no matter what was going on that it was all over grown.
About two weeks into me cleaning up they started showing up and doing stuff.
At first I thought they were just feeling bad for me and just wanted to help me get it back into order. The first time it was two of them and then three, then four, the army was growing. But as I was trying to be smart and deal with problems in the best way I could find to make the yard beautiful easier to maintain, their philosophy of cleaning the yard includes cutting everything back so bad that there are no leaves on any of the trees because the branches have been cut down, the bushes are much the same way, vines that they don't want are just cut at the base not dug out (so they are coming back). Anyway with their method has made the yard look desolate.
Well that is my rant about the yard fiasco, oh and on a final note we have been here nearly 3 years and this is the first time they ever complained about the yard...go figure.
Now we need to find a place while we are starting out business and Jess is still finishing out her last 6 weeks at work. We are not sure what we are going to do I guess that it will depend on how well the business does. If it generates enough money maybe we will stay on the island, if not we will have to move back to the mainland and start all over again.
It's a rough time but through it all I have my son and the love of my wonderful wife.
PS UPDATE! I want to hear about topless women's hockey!
