I had a fabulous time today! I went shopping with my friend Angie. We went to the Eaton's center first. I bought two long sleeve tee's at Old Navy. They were on 2 for $15. I got red and teal. We wondered through the Eaton's center, had french fries for brunch, went to a second hand book store I love that is just up the street from the mall. I had credit there from Travis trading in movies and such there before. I managed to get quite a few things for people on my Christmas list. Then we headed back to the mall and looked around some more. I bought a couple necklaces for friends and picked up something for Travis...I think he will love it! I of course cannot not tell you else he will read it
Anyway then we grabbed a tram down to spadina and browsed china town. I found all sorts of odd little things for people. I also found these butterfly magnets made of feathers. They were so pretty I bought four of them for$2. I have not decided which ones I will keep and which I will give to friends. There was a dumpling shop with a huge line up of people, you could see them making dumplings in the window. I love dumplings I really wanted some but there were way too many people in line. So we kept going and went to Kensington Market...or tried to...we took a wrong turn somewhere and ended up in Little Italy.
Once we found Kensington we had a great time looking at everything. I had not been there in two years. we went to this place called the Rice Bar for supper. One of the things you could get on your rice was kimchi...which I have heard mentioned on iron Chef so many times that I had to try it...unfortunately it was very spicy and I could not eat it...but I managed to push it to the side and eat the rest! Which was very yummy. I had brown basmati rice which is rather nutty in flavour and I had a soy, ginger, sesame sauce on it with pumpkin seeds as topping....and the kimchi of course BLAH. It was very tasty without the kimchi.
So then we took a tram to queen and walked up part way. we popped into this little place that was all pink on the outside...which I love...and I found soap for my cousin. It smells like icing. MMMM and then I saw these magnets, They are of sushi. I bought one for my friend Peggy. As I was paying I saw more magnets and they are the absolute cutest. They were of little snowmen, gingerbread men, hearts, ladybugs, butterflies, strawberries, and mice (in black or white). I thin there may have been another one...but I do not remember. I bought 6 of them...I did not get the black mouse or the butterflies. They are too cute. I adore magnets. I know I was shopping for others but they were so great!
So next we grabbed a tram and went back to the Eaton's center but it was too crazy so we headed over to a restaurant Angie knew that had desserts. Before we got there I saw that in Pier One they had all these beautiful pink xmas ornaments. Last week i bought a little 3.5' tree, I had no ornaments and had not decided what I wanted to buy. seeing the pink ornaments made me want to do it all in pink, silver and white....we will see if that happens as the ones in there were quite expensive...but I did buy three sparkly white jingle bell ornaments. They are really cool.
Then we went to Fran's and had Hot Fudge Brownies and ice cream...yummy!
So I had a really great day!
