@rare tagged me in this holiday questionnaire. So I decided to take part! I'd love to see some other responses as well.
1. How was your Thanksgiving and what are you thankful for?
I had a wonderful Thanksgiving (I'm an American, so I celebrate it), although too much driving. But I got to spend time with my 4-year-old granddaughter! Always the highlight of any day! I'm very thankful for her. 💕
2. Who's putting up a Christmas tree???
I have a small, artificial one that I put up every year. It's about a meter tall. 🎄😉
3. Do you have any family tradition for Thanksgiving and Christmas?
Nothing special other than being with family somewhere on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. And gathering with friends on New Year's Eve!
4. Your best advice?
Enjoy what you do in life. If you don't, then find what you do enjoy. A job may be a job to earn money, but then have something fun in your life that you're passionate about. (I'm a rocket scientist, so my passion and my job are the same.)
5. Do you have any holiday charities you donate to?
I am fortunate to be able to donate to many charities. My priorities are the environment, animal rescues, historical societies (we can't forget our history, especially now!), and hospice for end-of-life care. Why hospice? After my wife died of breast cancer, I joined a bereavement support group through a local hospice organization. I've supported them ever since.
6. Your favorite Christmas song?
The Christmas Song, sung by Mel Torme! "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..."
7. Your best Christmas present, your choices given or received?
I gave my late wife a Cartier gold "rolling" ring. The look on her face was priceless!
8. Do you have your Christmas shopping done?
Hell no! I'm last minute as well.
9. Fun question something you enjoy during the Holidays?
Driving around to see the Christmas light.
10. Do you have plans for New Years eve?
Getting together with some friends somewhere.
11. Your goals for the new year 2024?
Make my granddaughter the happiest 5 year old possible! (She turns 5 in January.)
12. Your New Years resolution?
I don't do them. Maybe one ... To just be kind to everyone I meet.
13. Your favorite hobbies?
Photography, bicycling, going to soccer (football) games, reading, etc.
14. Do you do Christmas cards?
That's funny! I literally started my Christmas Card List today! November 26th!
15. Share anything you want from your past holiday's?
As an American understands "holiday" I have nothing to share that I already haven't shared above. But as the rest of the world understands "holiday" I love to travel, especially internationally. I was in England and Scotland in the spring. Some friends and I went to see some English Premier League games, then after they went home I drove to Scotland to visit friends there. I loved it! Next year I hope to get to Germany! Ich vermisse Deutschland!
Happy Holidays!!!
