Everyone who subscribes to SG stares at strangers. We look into the eyes of people we've never met or spoken to before. Sometimes we communicate; sometimes we think we know the people involved. But, often we just look.
But what if you were asked to stare into the eyes of a complete stranger without speaking for an hour? Someone not physically remote from you, but there in the room. How would if feel? What would your emotions be and, more importantly, what kind of relationship could you establish without resorting to words?
I found this video while looking for material on one of my favourite groups, The Broken Family Band. Natalie Toumbas asked two complete strangers to do exactly that. I won't get all intellectual and psycho-analytical about the results. I just think it's beautiful. As is the song. Perhaps it says something about being human. Perhaps my heart's too big...
