Sometimes life is definitely too short for the stuff that gets shovelled your way at work. Take this for example:
"Opportunity for profit, or, opportunity for loss cannot be calculated in NPV. If a proactive process is put in place but has not been invoked, no savings can be claimed from the improvement process not yet invoked."
I have 48 slides of stuff like that to get through this afternoon, and I can feel my brain oozing out of my ears.
Ah well, at least my beloved TT has been fixed, and a lot more cheaply than I was dreading. So it's not all corporate nastiness today.
But over 2000 of my US colleagues lost their jobs this week. It's really upsetting when people you've built up a good working relationship with just disappear. I feel a little safer here in the UK, but none of us can be complacent about our positions at the moment. And a lot will be like me - lose the job, lose the house, because there is no way we can afford the mortgage here on a single wage. Even the salary cuts they want us to accept would be hard to absorb. So the answer is going to be 'NO!'. I'm just hoping our union and works councils can put up a strong enough front, and enough people oppose the pay cuts to prevent them imposing it.
The workers united......etc,etc.

Not my intention. I don't equate my mom with "old." She's the coolest mom I know. She goes to concerts and stuff with me, she gets along with my friends at parties and so forth. So it was not an insult at all. I just know she likes that kind of music as well. =P

Also, of the music suggestions you've made, I've listened to and liked most of them so far. =)
