A little while back, I was asked what actress just really does it for me. Who has it all? Well I make it a point not to know anything about celebrities' personal lives, so instead I've made a list of fictional characters and the actresses who play them. Every time I watch these movies, I can't help but think "g-d I LOVE her!"
5. Arwen "Lord of the Rings" - Liv Tyler - She combines love and devotion with a strong sense of tragedy, or maybe love and devotion despite a strong sense of tragedy.
4. Penny Lane "Almost Famous" - Kate Hudson - She's mysterious, aloof, and always just out of reach. She's also just a dreamer and a girl next door, who just wants to find all the mysterious, aloof, and out-of-reach wonders of the world.
3. Lyra Belacqua "The Golden Compass" - Dakota Blue Richards - Lyra is the rebellious and fearless person I wish I could be. She's not afraid to take chances or stand up for what's right.
2. Ree Dolly "Winter's Bone" - Jennifer Lawrence - This girl is just plain badass. Her devotion to her family is overwhelming and the source of her strength.
1. Ginnie Weasley "Harry Potter" - Bonnie Wright - I feel like Ginnie has a way of seeing a situation in black and white. She's wise beyond her years and isn't afraid to stand her ground. She's able to offer guidance when needed and fiercely protects those she loves.
In making this list, I realized a few things about what I really find attractive in a woman. I've been in some bad relationships and in most of them, I was cheated on. That's part of why the devotion is so important. I also was raised to put family first and I can honestly say I would and have readily put my life on the line for those I love. All these heroines have a strong sense of right and wrong, though not necessarily within society's standards, and refuse to back down. Lastly, they are not afraid to dream. They dream of ways to help their loved ones, they dream of happy endings, and they dream of adventure.
