My first tattoo I got when I was 19. I had spend the past couple of months being treated for severe depression. After about 5 months I decide to start to look for a career job within the creative fields. I tried many different areas but the only one I could remember was hair dressing. However, that was not my passion. I had start looking into tattoo artistry. I did research online and went into tattoo shops and asked around for information and even had tattooist offering to look at my art work. Which they did and told me I had potential, just that I needed to practice other styles and have a larger portfolio. So I made it my mission to practice, practice, practice! During that period I had to go visit family in Adelaide, but I was scared! Because I was living with my boyfriend and he was the only one who stood by me and who knew how to handle my breakdowns (at the start there's A LOT). As soon as he saw the signs of a mental breakdown, without a second thought go:
1. get the BOBBY! (my kitty) this was important because Bobby cuddles ALWAYS made me feel better.
2. make sure I wasn't going to self harm, this wasn't always suicidal but a way of emotional relief.
3. make a cup of tea, tea has always made me feel better because when it goes down it makes me all warm and fuzzy.
4. if Bobby could handle things then Rob (bf) would go out and get chocolate, simply because I'm a chocoholic and who doesn't love chocolate.
5. sit down and cuddle :)
and for this trip Rob had to stay in Melbourne for TAFE so I had to go alone. I didn't like the idea. But I also needed to take a step forward and walk into the unknown if I was going to growing from my darkness. And to be away from my furbaby?! The idea was insane! So I figured I would get a tattoo, something that I could remind myself to keep going. With a lot of research, I chose to mark myself with this tattoo. This symbols means recovery. And with this tattoo I will keep for the rest of my life to remind me of the strength I've had to get through the past hardships and to continue to fight through the future hardships.
as Supernatural says "ALWAYS KEEP FIGHTING"
