I really grinds me when I'm standing in a cue to buy something from a shop and it's my turn to buy and the checkout person (it's usually only checkout girls that do this) shrieks "can I help??" in a shrill voice as if it is the biggest inconvenience to them that I am there to buy something from them. "Can I help?" At this point I feel like throwing the goods I am about to buy on the floor and saying: "Well if it's that much of a fucking problem for you then no, I'm good thanks," and stomping out of the store. YES YOU CAN HELP YOU FUCKING TWAT! Isn't that why you are standing behind that checkout point? To help me buy things? God I hate people sometimes...
The next time a checkout girl yells "can I help?" at me I'm gonna vomit in my shoe and plonk it on the counter in front of her. That will be awesome. I just need to work on being able to vomit on demand now...

Still, if I could vomit on command I'd probably do what you want, if I ended up with a particularly indignant server.
But you're right. I'm probably being too harsh...it does look like a dismal job to be doing. I pride myself in always being really nice to checkout people...if they don't spit 'can I help' at me, that is.
