You know you're having a shitty day when your one of your best friends calls you a stupid slut. On Women's Day, no less.
I should have gone to McGill. I should have taken my early acceptance and ran. I would be out of this city (though I love it) and away from all the lives I've accumulated. I would be able to speak French on a daily basis. I would be surrounded by culture instead of a never-ending rat race of briefcases and blank faces among the bleached teeth of Bloor Street. I would have avoided the last 2 years and counting of misery. I would be unmedicated and unscarred. I would be on my own and more self-confident. I would be in Montreal. My favourite city. Maybe that's where I left myself. I miss it there.
