so my dog tested positive for heartworm this morning. now we're just waiting for the vet to call and tell us the specifics about the treatment because he was in animal surgery when we got the test/results this morning. he should be fine i think since he's young and otherwise healthy and not really showing symptoms of heartworm, but that shit is expensive... and apparently he most likely had it when we got him, but it can take over 6 months to show up on tests. i guess thats a risk when you get dogs from the pound...
