So this wasn't the greatest New Year's I've ever had, but it was still fairly entertaining. I attended a formal house party with a girlfriend who drank a full fuckin' magnum of blush wine
and got really trashed. We didn't know too many people there, so we eventually bailed and headed over to one of the local bars. As expected, it turned out to be fairly lame but we met with another good friend, and by that point I was far too tipsy to care about the tame atmosphere. I danced to the bad techno and humoured some random dork who told me he liked my dress. He tried to get touchy feely with me, but I managed to discourage any serious contact. Kate and I eventually stumbled our sorry asses half way home in our dresses and high heels, then hailed a cab a mere 10 minute walk away from her home. The alcohol wasn't enough to keep us warm!
The following day is an example of how the "little" things really do make me the happiest. Kate and I both woke up around noon to the sounds of her roommate's fat-bastard cat meowing. I was slightly hungover with a mild headache, but one coffee and two ibruprofen eased the throbbing ache in no time. I took a nice hot shower and was greeted by another friend by the time I got out of the tub. Kate insisted she couldn't shake her blush-wine induced queeze unless she had some greasy breakfest, so we piled into our cars and toured around downtown home town in search of the perfect grease spoon. Nothing. Nothing was soddin' open, except for one restaurant that neither of us was in the mood for. So instead, we headed over to a nearby strip mall for some Taco Bell and Wendy's, then headed back to Kate's where all three of us just sat, ate, and talked all afternoon. The three of us re-convened later that evening for a couple of flicks at Kate's and laughed our asses off. Margaret Cho is freaking hilarious!
I spent the past 24 hours with my gentleman friend. We hadn't seen each other in over two weeks, so dinner plans got pushed back a bit
We later dined at a pub, caught Lemony Snicket at a local theatre, watched Resident Evil 2 when we got back to his place, then fell asleep in each other's arms.
He made wicked love to me this morning, then made a hearty french toast breakfest to satisfy our worked-up appetites. We spent the remainder of the afternoon looking at photos of his trip to Southeast Asia last year.
Our time together made me very happy.
I feel nurtured.
I feel loved.
Happy New Years, Darlings.
