The day after the Halloween Party...
Marge drank a lot of yummy punch last night, plus a couple of gin and tonics. Marge got a little too drunk, and woke up this morning with a thundering head-ache. Marge spent some time in the bathroom, luckily not on her knees in front of the toilet. Marge wasn't acting like her typical, conservative self. Drinking and hang-overs is more of Homer thing, isn't it?
I managed to haul my sorry ass in and out of the shower in time for the parental visit. Mom bestowed me with her stellar home-cookin' as usual, while Dad played handy-man and did some drilling and nailing of things. The new pad is coming along nicely, just need to hook up my computer and mop the floors once more and it'll be ready for a housewarming par-tay! This may sound rather pathetic, but the cable guy who was supposed to reconnect the digital box from my previous apartment stood me up today and I was a little bumbed. This living alone thing really does rock, but as the super sexy rottenart said, it does get lonely from time to time. After living with so many different people for a number of years, it is a little unnnerving to walk into an apartment without any conversation. Silence...except for the sound of my own voice. The sooner I get cable the better, I need to hear chatter to ease the feeling of total isolation.
In the true spirit of Halloween, I treated myself to "The Grudge". Holy shit. My heart was racing non-stop throughout the film. I spent most of the time in the theatre with my hands over my face, my fingers springing to shield my eyes every time one a spook jumped out of nowhere. I'm a little afraid to go home. I fear the moment I walk through the door, I will be confronted by a bleeding, writhing, long-haired Japenese woman who will devour me whilst omitting the most wretched, gutteral sound!
