wow, a whole week and i didn't update...so this will be long. Not really, not a lot happened this week.
I met one of my close friends new GF, she was cool, and I met one of her friends, who is apparently (they told me this) a lesbian. Damn it. She's really cool, and very cute.
I had one of those disturbing dreams, the ones where you wake up and it hurts to realise that it wasn't real, and it involved her. Isn't that weird, the way you can totally fall in love in a dream with someone you don't really know that well, then when you see them again you feel that longing and that sense of love that you had in the dream. And it kind of hurts. You know what i mean? I think pretty much everyone in the world has had that experience.
What's very weird about it though, is that I don't usually remember my dreams. But i felt this one. It made me write some rather amateurish and prosaicly simplistic poetry.
It's only short, so i may as well put it here.
I apologise in advance for it's lack of ...well, anything redeeming. But at least it's fucking real, folks.
I saw you last night.
Yes, it was just a dream,
but at the time
it felt real
beauty tapped against me
as close as we could be
to being one
so gently
not a punk-chick for a while
the only angel in existence
contact, entwined, the skin,
and comfort
don't let go
this is totally love.
I will never forget this
at the time, it felt real.
Yeah, ok, I'm really sorry, I can't apologise enough. I'll try not to put up any more bad poetry ever again. Just be grateful i haven't made you sit through my semi-Rollins-ish poetry that i wrote in college. Really, be grateful. It's terrible stuff. Worse than that. Really.
So now i have this imposing crush on a lesbian. Great. I really know how to pick them, don't I.
I had an OK rest of the week, Thursday was cool, hanging out with Sam (who took my pics). Playing video games and chilling out...I fucking love the 360. All of you still in PS2 land, if you are happy there, that's fine. But the weather over here is awesome, the drinks and smokes are free and it's just great. 360 land rules. Ok, it's not quite like that, but it almost feels like it.
Friday i went to see a couple of bands in a local village called Croyde. It was really good, the support band 'up periscope' were really cool, very interesting rock/indie stuff with some mental time sigs. Then the main band, 'The Breaks' are always great, but I go to all their gigs as my best buddy Johnny Scratch is a part of them, and I'm good friends with most of them anyway. It's really cool seeing how popular they are getting, they supported Courtney Pine a few weeks back. Yes, it's frustrating to see them do what I would be doing if i hadn't got ill years ago, but I do not resent them at all. I just want the best for them, because they really fucking jam.
So it was a great gig, I got checked out by a few women, but you couldn't talk in there, it was too loud, so I couldn't do much about it. Sam brought this totally cute/hot girl called Kate with him, she was great, but again I couldn't really talk to her because it was so loud. I think she may only be 17 as well, which really is a bit too young for me. Shame!
I did spend about 20 minutes watching this guy dancing at a girl i had been looking at. She smiled at me, which was nice. But this guy was really trying to impress her by dancing 'at' her. It was very sad, and completely hilarious both at the same time. I wonder why some guys still think that that would impress a woman...
Needless to say, i saw her leave with her friends, and the guy left with his buddies. She smiled at me again as she left, so I think she thought i was at least passable. Which was nice.
The rest of the weekend has been spent playing video games, watching movies (the league of gentlemens apocalypse was a disappointing pile of crap), watching boosh dvd's and basically just lazing around in my PJ's. (pyjama days (c) akemi)
Wow. That was quite a long update. But, hey, at least I'm in a good mood.
Go and give good happy thoughts and voodoo healing spells to my good friend SonOfAPunk. He's had surgery and is now recovering, so make him feel good, because he's a lovely bloke. Thank you.
Also, visit auren's page and find the links to buy the 'Rocket' CD. It is really fucking awesome. They are the best girl band ever, and i want to give them all my babies.
peace and love and happy voodoo to you all...
