It's hard to pick just 5 shows because I spent a LOT of time watching TV while growing up and these past few years on the internet. There are SO many ways some series have reached to me, I could go on forever. I'll try anyway:
- United States of Tara.
I can't stress this enough: you have to watch this.
- Dexter.
The ending is somewhat debatable but the first seasons, specially season 4, blew my mind.
- Simpsons.
I'm a Simpsons freak. That's it. I have to admit though, that I'm that kind of fanatic that hates anything from the past 10 years or so. Can debate how it got wrong on so many levels for hours...
- Game of Thrones.
Another conflictive ending debate, but a great show for years nonetheless.
- Star Trek (franchise)
I've become a trekkie very recently actually, but it's a wonderful world of sci-fi. I've been watching all series simultaneously along with the movies and it's just one of those things so carefully put together that really sets up a high bar for television (nevermind the fx...until Discovery and Picard that was their weakest spot)
It's hard to narrow it down to just 5, I could write 100 more...
