Right then.
The kidlets are just fine. I ended up skipping the Tylenol (is Panadol the UK equivalent of that, btw?) because my daughters seemed sluggish, but otherwise okay. They slept much more than usual, but when the sun came up the next morning, they were both right as rain and back to their normal cheerful selves. Behold the power the human body--the germs must have been vanquished right nicely without any interference from me. a c'est bon.
My 4th of July was fun. I'm amazed to find that the husband and I actually have friends this go 'round. It seems like everywhere we move, we don't ever click with anyone we meet, and spend a lot of time feeling a bit lonely and shut out. This new place must be the mecca for hip, cool folks in the Navy, as we've gone from never socializing to having a full calendar. We're planning parties and smaller, more casual get-togethers, we're talking on the phone, we're chatting online, we're trading movies and music. It's so wonderful. That probably sounds a little gimpy, but as much of a loner as I like to be, sometimes you just GOTTA have people to hang out with.
I'm gathering quite an awesome little group of friends here. You guys all rule. Thank you for your advice, funny comments, and compliments. It makes my day to see you guys pop up on my bookmarks and comment list.
I have about 6 more things to do before I go to bed, and it's 2:40 in the friggin' morning, so I'll make this short.
I have been cranky on and off, but in general? Life is fine.
Be good. Or at least no worse than I would be.
