Damn your fucking work
Damn your fucking work
Damn your fucking work
I wanna be a Youngblood
Once again, I'm feeling young and fast and well.
There's something to be said for action, something indeed. There's a quiet freedom to fearlessly acting on your impulses, letting chance ride, and working with a gamble.
So instead of going to work today, I quit.. and had a fantastic 3 hour lunch at Cafe Esperanza with some old fellow expat Victoria friends who've also settled themselves here in Quebec. Had a small mouth-watering cup of espresso and a delicious BBQ tofu wrap.
Then I dropped in on poor sickly Karnivale, only to run around in the enlivening windy cold discussing the various merits of jellybeans.
After some snacks and warming up by a pleasant fireplace I topped off this most excellent day by seeing underground music/poet legend Billy Childish at the Sala Rossa as part of the Pop Montreal Festival. He tore it up.. read some of his brilliant poetry (the best I've heard in ages) followed by a terrific old blues set.
Quitting work means eating right again, sleeping properly again, and not hating my immediate surroundings. I've been writing again and feel on the verge of pumping myself into a variety of creative works and activities of a self-improving nature.
Come on Lady Luck, papa's got a brand new pair of shoes
