Eddie Izzard in t-20 days. Oh yeah.
Canada Day doesn't exist in Montreal - the only Canada Day celebration I saw was a bunch of gorgeous naked Canadian SGs. Not that that's a bad celebration...
Unfortunately the roommate who left took the kitchen table, so eating will be interesting over the next little while.. as will sleeping as the bed I was crashing on is gone too. I need your poor, your tired, your huddled furniture.
Yesterday was decent though.. I'd moved everything the night before, so I didn't have anything to do. There was also a phone number mishap so all the resumes I've been sending out have the wrong number on them now. The job I've been waiting to hear about I found out the guy's staying on for another couple of months.. so that's not a possibility in terms of employment. I'm sure something will pop up in the near future, although I'll probably have to take something lame as a band-aid solution until something cool comes along.
Yesterday I also hung out with my roommate Eli - we went for a nice walk around the Plateau and kept our eyes open for moving day scores. (didn't see anything) Then we came home had an epic session of MarioKart (original SuperNES version) in which we were about equally matched. It's nice to play with someone who swears as much as I do at been knocked out of ranking. Then we watched Chocolat, which I'd never seen before, it was really terrific - I wanted a decadent chocolate experience afterwards. The ads made that movie look like total cutesy crap so I never saw it.. but I quite enjoyed it. Juliette Binoche and Johnny Depp were both great.
On a related note I realized that even the shittiest depanneur (corner store) in Montreal has really good chocolate - Lindt and other goodness. C'est bien.
Today Drea and I wandered around cooking stores and picked up a few things so we can get the apartment spanking clean. I was looking for bread pans, but didn't find any that satisfied me. (those that know me well know my incredible pickiness when it comes towards kitchenware and other items - I'll hold out until I can find something just right) I did pick up some amazing kind of 60s mod pattern mugs on the cheap - 9.35 for 8 mugs. Very cool. I couldn't resist. I need to find a job so I don't have to resist more often. Hopefully I'll find some bread pans so I can bake some bread soon.
I'm truly the best hausfrau.
