Man is a rope stretched between the animal and the ubermensch --
a rope over an abyss. - Friedrich Nietzsche
I feel that high of the journeyman tightrope walker, taking my first tentative steps on a thin rope over a cavity of dark endless space. I can't see the bottom, or the other side.. just a few more inches of rope.
It's like a quick elastic band snap to the cerebellum and everything jumps into high definition and you're veins are filled with a loose lanky high.
I'm up on the tightrope
one side's hate and one is hope
but the tophat on my head is all you see
It feels good to get your first few footsteps on a sentimental journey.. to the quiet calm of self-control, the long ride to samadhi. There's nothing like the simple pleasure found in realizing your own ignorance.
Waste no movement, do the discipline of the do-easy, unite the body and mind so that acting and thinking is the same thing. Put one foot in front of the other, nullify frustration, and you'll get there eventually.
There's still so much out there to learn, so much better you can be, so much to achieve. I'm glad I know nothing.. because that's the most exciting part of it all.. that long trip on the crystal ship..
'm up on the tightrope
one side's hate and one is hope
but the tophat on my head is all you see
I'm up on the tightwire
flanked by life and the funeral pyre
putting on a show
for you to see

The clerk got the tape for me from the back. Look, it's really hard to find something in that store on your own. I go in there with a list, and they give me what I want. Usually.

Well, his name is actually James, but everyone calls him Fang. Well, everyone except my grandma. His are rather pronounced. Hence the nickname.
