This is one of those tricky times.
I have a well-paid, fun, enjoyable job. Not my calling, but pretty sweet.
I'm dating beautiful, intelligent, charming women who enjoy my company.
I'm reading fantastic literature, have been crossing things off my life goals list.
I'm losing weight (4 kgs so far!).
I'm being ballyhooed for style amongst my peers.
But something is missing.
I can't put my finger on whether it's lack of socializing (to my preferred amount) due to my schedule, the lack of challenges before me, a pitiful creative output lately, or the lack of love/emotional connection accompanying the sex and fun times.
In the end, I suppose, it boils down to my 2 greatest fears - that I won't fulfill my potential and that I'll never meet anyone weird enough for me.

I saw your post in Lit Club and made the leap that you were turned onto William Gibson's Zero History by AcidGampa's and my own ramblings. Thusly I assume that you have not yet checked out Neal Stephenson. So hunt down Cryptonomicon and Snow Crash; both books are fantastic. Also, if you have not yet read the sprawl trilogy books by Gibson, get immediately on that as well.
