I've been having late-night visits from new mothers, drunken encounters with transit authorities, lonely times watching reformed Brazilian psychedelic bands, eating vegetarian eggs benedict with hungover friends, talking about the weather in roller skate shops, discussing shaving and the virtues of my new Merkur safety razor with local barbers, talking about vintage bag restoration while I picked up a sharp 1970s original two-tone Cooper bag, trying to find just the right kind of leather winter shoes that balance style vs. winter protection, cruising through thrift stores finding two tone baby blue mod Italian shoes, been lounging in a robe, enjoying the trappings of manliness, drinking ginger pear tea, reading books about fonts, going to the first major North American exhibit of Otto Dix with my mother, drinking giant bottles of beer in bed, planning for the future, going to the gym, pondering the numinous.
