Let's see. My two days off were a terrible mess of rain. I went to see "the Wizard of Gore" as part of the Fantasia film festival last night. Crispin Glover was bizarre and really fantastic and the movie as a whole was quite impressive .. I never knew exactly what was going to happen - and magic and death and weirdo voodoo mind control drugs - what more could a man want? Oh yeah - Flux and a bunch of other SGs get killed in it - I've seen people I know have sex in movies before (don't ask) but never being killed. Very fun. Go see it when it's available near you. And you know me, I don't recommend things lightly.
I'm (rightfully) exhausted because I worked Sat/Sun and didn't return home before 5:30 AM either night. Fri. night there was some post-film hotel room madness with Jeremyscareme including a lengthy film nerd conversation about the best homebrew way to make your own 3D movies. My roommate is getting very excited about shooting in our living room and I'm finished up the script for a weirdo movie - think Egyptian mythology meets Jan Svankmajer and Kenneth Anger. Lots of puppets, stop-motion and madness. Long live the productivity of the Montreal winter! And it's fun to be writing again. Working for the non-talented version of the Canadian Roger Corman and never being paid for my work kind of soured cinema for a bit. Although I might write about that too.
Kali had this fun karaoke birthday party where essentially myself and her best friend did most of the non-birthday girl portion of the singing... except for a hilarious ad-libbed version of a song I can't remember, but involved a lot of lines about pissing on people. And the seagull video for Sisqo's "Thong Song" (which I helped write - see testimonials) is a new classic. Dasha was also there.. farting a lot.
Last night after karaoke I went to this little Italy loft party with a bunch of friends to dance my ass off. This girl that I've went out with a few times was there, but unbeknownst to me a bunch of her friends were there before she'd arrived. Due to the magic of the internet I was recognized by a bunch of strangers who proceeded to tell me how I'm the bees knees, which was fun, but a bit strange. Although one of them was this gorgeous girl with a shaved head with a sun tattoo on one side, who I'd seen at the bluegrass night at Barfly a week prior, but never ended up talking to. Also has a French accent. Throw in freckles and that's practically all my weaknesses in one.
But the party was great - although the 5.5 hours sleep in a two day period meant I pretty much slept my day through work today watching World Series of Poker clips on YouTube. Hot times.

I've been down this week, come to entertain me.

I really do love girls with shaved heads. And sun tattoos, coincidentally.
